Consecutive nights, or one arrangement

Consecutive nights are simpler and usually cheaper. Each night stands on its own at the overnight figure, and you both have your days back, which after the second night most guests find they want. One arrangement covering the days as well is quoted as a single written total, and is the right shape only when the days genuinely have something in them: a trip out of town, an occasion, people to be met.

Tamsin will say which of the two fits what you have described, and she will say it even when the other one is the larger figure.

What several days are actually like

Slower than one. The first evening does the work that a single booking has to do in an hour, and everything after it is easier. The mistake guests make is filling the days with a programme; the ones who enjoy it most keep two or three fixed things across the whole stretch and leave the rest of the hours ordinary. Breakfast, a walk, an afternoon in which very little is said. She will not be bored, and she will say so if she is.

Her own hours inside it

A woman booked for several days keeps some of them for herself, and this is agreed at the start rather than negotiated in the middle. Most take a few hours out in the daytime. That is not a reduction in the arrangement, it is what makes the arrangement survive past the second day, and any companion who pretends otherwise is either new or unhappy.

Every woman here keeps an absolute right to end a booking, at any point, for any reason or none. Over several days that matters more than it does over three hours, and it costs her nothing with us.

Four who are good over a stretch

Milena is the same company at midnight as she was at six, which is the quality that matters most here. Stacy takes an hour to warm up and is considerably better over four days than four hours. Vanessa is slow, gentle and comfortable with a guest who wants to say very little. Luna is very hard to hurry and treats that as a virtue, which across a week it is. All four appear again under late twenties or early twenties.

Where a stretch is best spent

Kensington and Holland Park, as above, for the quiet and for the flats let by the week. Marylebone suits a guest who wants to walk to everything, and Chelsea one whose days are free and whose evenings start early. Mayfair is fine for a night and tiring for a week, which most guests discover on about the third day.

When the plan changes partway through

Over several days it usually does. One night can be dropped from a run of consecutive overnights with three hours' notice and nothing owed for it; the others stand as agreed. An arrangement quoted as a single total carries its own terms, which Tamsin sets out before you say yes rather than after. If either of you ends the stretch early, nothing is owed for the nights that do not happen.

Writing about several days

Give the dates, where you are staying, whether you want nights or nights and days, and one line about what the stretch is for. The reply names a woman, sets out how the hours are counted and gives you either a run of figures or one total, in writing, before anything at all is held.
