The photographs, and what is never done to them

Who takes them

A photographer we use for the whole list, in daylight where possible, in rooms and gardens rather than in a studio with a paper backdrop. Sessions run two or three hours so that a woman has time to stop performing, which is usually when the useful frames arrive. She sees every image afterwards and removes any she does not want published, without having to give a reason.

What kind of pictures these are

Glamour and lifestyle photography: a woman dressed for an evening, in a real room or outdoors, looking like herself. Faces are softened, deliberately and visibly, and the reason is simple enough. A woman on this list has work, sometimes study, and a family that belong to the rest of her life, and her anonymity is the condition on which she agreed to be here at all. Every set is softened, there are no exceptions, and no unsoftened version of a face is in circulation. She is seen properly across a table, by one person, on the evening itself. There is no nudity anywhere on this site and there never will be, and nothing here is explicit in any degree.

That softening is the only thing done to a face, and past the face nothing at all: height, figure, hair, colouring, the way she holds herself and the way she dresses are left where the camera found them.

What is adjusted, and what is not

Adjusted: exposure, white balance, contrast, and the crop. A picture taken in a warm room is corrected so that skin looks like skin rather than like a lamp. That is the whole list.

Not adjusted: shape, weight, height, waistline, bust, skin texture, moles, scars, tattoos, or the colour or length of hair. No face is swapped, thinned or smoothed beyond the softening described above. No image is generated by a machine, and no stock photograph appears anywhere on this site.

Whose pictures they are

Each companion's own. Nothing has been taken from another agency, another website or a social account, and nothing has been bought from a library. If a woman leaves the list, her pictures come down the same week. A companion may withdraw an image at any time, for any reason, and it is removed without discussion.

When they were last checked

Every set is reviewed at least once a year, and reshot when a woman's appearance has changed enough to matter: a different hair colour, a noticeably different weight, a year or two passing. A page that says she is twenty-five says so because she is. The facts printed beside each set are checked at the same time, which is why some of them are less flattering than they could be.

If she does not look like her page

Tell Tamsin, that evening or the next day. It has not happened here, and if it ever does the booking is put right at our expense rather than argued about. You are entitled to the woman on the page you chose from, and the fee you agreed was agreed on that basis.

Where these pictures may go

Nowhere but here. They belong to this house and to her, and they are not for copying, downloading, reposting or reverse image searching, which includes every frame hanging in the Hang.

An attempt to work out who she is away from this list ends the engagement, and so does photographing or recording her without written consent: the booking closes at once under the conduct clause of the terms, the fee is kept, and no explanation is owed.
