About Stacy
Stacy is 176 cm and slim, with near-black brown hair worn long and brown eyes, and she has been the tallest person in most rooms since she was fifteen. She dresses to it rather than away from it: white and pale colours, long lines, heels she does not need and wears anyway. She is twenty-two, and she is calmer than either the height or the age would lead anyone to expect. She is slim, long limbed and dresses plainly for somebody who is looked at constantly.
She is sparing with English early on, warming up over an hour rather than in a minute. She asks good questions once she is comfortable, and she has the useful quality of finding other people genuinely interesting. She dances, she is learning to cook from a single stained book, and she is honest when she does not know something, which at her age is rare. She is unusually easy to be silent with, which most people her age have not learned yet.
In Chelsea she likes Daphne's on Draycott Avenue, the long Italian room off the Brompton Road end, with the pale walls and the roof that opens in summer. It is unhurried and quietly grown up, and nobody there is interested in who is at the next table. She lives in Chelsea, five minutes from the door, and can be at a hotel on Sloane Avenue faster than a taxi would manage it. In summer she asks for a table under the open roof and will not be moved.
She is better over four hours than over two. Hotels and private addresses across Chelsea and the streets around Brompton Cross are her ground. A message with the day in it brings her hours by return.

Booking her evening
Stacy is better over a long evening than a short one, as she takes an hour to warm up and is worth the hour. Short notice is usually possible in Chelsea.
Her figures are the house figures, printed in full on the rates page, and the whole arrangement runs in one thread from the first line to the confirmation.

An evening with Stacy
Stacy's evening needs a little room at the start. She is quiet for the first half hour and then, quite suddenly, she is not, and the rest of the night goes wherever the two of you have decided to take it.
The room on Draycott Avenue suits this: pale, calm, the roof open in summer, no music to shout over. She eats well, laughs more than she expects to and is entirely without airs about anything. Afterwards the streets around Brompton Cross are quiet and handsome and she will walk them at the pace of somebody in no hurry to end an evening. Back at the hotel she is warm and easy, and the final hour moves at the pace the first one set.
Stacy, in her own words
Not now. At fifteen it was a problem. At twenty-two it is simply the view.
For about forty minutes. After that people usually want the quiet version back.
One dish at a time, from a book somebody left behind. I am four dishes in and improving. Cooking one thing properly is more interesting than cooking ten things badly, and it has made me patient with anything that takes practice, including a conversation with somebody I have just met.

In the margin
The remarks card for Stacy is still blank, which is usually what discretion looks like. A note appears here only when a guest writes one, she agrees to it, and the house has checked that it reads as a first name, a month and nothing private.
